What is Billions Network (BILL)?

Proving you are a real person online usually means trading away your privacy or relying on specialized scanning hardware. Billions Network (BILL) takes a different path. It lets users verify their identity with just a passport and a smartphone—no biometric database sitting on a central server, no iris scans required.

BILL Serves Both People and AI Agents Under One Roof

The BILL token plays three core roles: covering verification fees, voting on protocol upgrades, and rewarding long-term participation. When users lock their BILL, they accumulate “Power Points,” a mechanism that gradually tightens the circulating supply. Individuals who complete verifications and developers who issue credentials can also earn BILL incentives.

A standout feature is the “Know Your Agent” (KYA) framework, which assigns a verifiable identity to AI agents. It cryptographically proves which real person deployed and controls a given agent. That means users interacting with autonomous software can actually see who is behind it.

How Billions Network Keeps Verification on the Device

At the core of the network are zero-knowledge proofs generated by Circom, a ZK library built by the same team. A user scans their passport via NFC or takes a live photo with their phone. The verification runs entirely on the device; sensitive data never leaves it. Only the outcome—“this person is real, unique, and over a certain age”—gets packaged into a portable credential. That credential can then be reused across different platforms without sharing raw personal information again.

The network further protects privacy through Context-Based Unique Identifiers (CBUIDs). The same individual can appear under different pseudonyms in separate applications, while still proving they are unique within each context. The two identities, however, cannot be linked to one another.

What Need Does BILL Address Differently?

More than half of internet traffic is estimated to come from bots. Sybil attacks, fake accounts, and deepfakes are eroding digital trust. BILL tackles this from both the human and the machine side—giving people a hardware-free way to prove personhood, while also issuing digital ID tags to AI agents. The project traces its lineage back to Polygon ID and Privado ID, meaning it carries years of identity infrastructure experience. That background has already translated into over 2 million verified users, grounding the network in real-world usage rather than remaining a whitepaper concept.
