What is Blur (BLUR)?

Blur (BLUR) is the governance token of an Ethereum-based NFT marketplace built for speed and deep liquidity. Launched in October 2022, the platform aggregates listings from multiple marketplaces into one interface, enabling traders to scan prices and execute rapid moves. In May 2023 it introduced Blend, a peer-to-peer lending protocol that lets users borrow against their NFTs as collateral.

How does the BLUR token shape the protocol?

BLUR is an ERC-20 token with a capped supply of 3 billion. It went live on 14 February 2023 and was distributed to early users through airdrops. Holders vote on protocol parameters such as fee structures, new features, and treasury allocations via a decentralized autonomous organization. The Blur Foundation coordinates the governance process, but the voting power lies with the community.

What tools does Blur offer for active traders?

Active NFT traders often need to track floor prices across several venues, spot arbitrage windows, and execute without delay. Blur addresses this by pulling real-time data from marketplaces like OpenSea and LooksRare into one dashboard. Users can sweep collections instantly, analyze floor-depth charts, and hide suspicious or stolen items. The platform charges zero marketplace fees, reducing costs for high-volume participants and allowing them to capture tighter spreads.

What is the Blend lending system?

Blend adds a borrowing and lending layer on top of the Blur marketplace. An NFT holder can deposit a token as collateral and receive Ethereum from a lender who earns interest. Loan terms—duration and rate—are negotiated directly between peers. If the collateral value slips too far, the position can be liquidated. By turning NFTs into yield-generating collateral, Blend expands the platform from a simple trading venue into a broader financial hub for digital collectibles.
