What is Grass (GRASS)?

Grass (GRASS) is the native token of a network that channels unused internet bandwidth into AI data collection. Users run an application on their devices to share idle resources and earn GRASS based on their contribution. Built on Solana, the project aims to establish a decentralized data layer.

What does the GRASS token offer its holders?

Participants who contribute bandwidth first accumulate points, which are periodically converted into GRASS tokens. The token also serves as a governance tool: holders can stake GRASS to vote on protocol upgrades and network parameters. Additionally, it can be used to access premium data services offered by the network.

How does the Grass network handle data collection and verification?

When users run the Grass desktop app or browser extension, their bandwidth is used in the background to scrape publicly available web data. Personal data and private network traffic remain untouched. The collected raw information is then structured into datasets suitable for training AI models.

The network uses zero-knowledge proofs (zk-SNARKs) to cryptographically record the data's integrity and provenance, giving AI developers full transparency into the origin of their training material. Routers manage traffic direction, while Validators handle verification and batch processing.
