What is Heima (HEI)?

Heima is a chain abstraction network designed to let one account operate across several blockchains. Instead of separate wallets, manual bridges, and native gas tokens on every chain, users interact through a unified interface. The network's native token, HEI, covers governance, fee settlement, and liquidity routing between supported chains.

What roles does HEI play on the network?

HEI operates on three main levels. Token holders use it to vote on protocol upgrades and treasury decisions. It also sits behind the network's gas abstraction feature, allowing execution fees to be settled without each user accumulating the native asset of every destination chain. In addition, HEI functions inside cross-chain liquidity pools, helping channel trades across different execution environments. A community-led burn of HEI has already shown how token holders can directly shape supply decisions.

How the omni-account flow works

At the center of Heima is the Omni Account, which provides Web2-style sign-in for assets held on different networks. Users describe an outcome rather than the technical route: for example, using an asset on one chain to complete a swap on another. Network participants called intent fillers discover and execute the best path behind the scenes. Security combines Trusted Execution Environments, which isolate computations in hardware, with Secure Multi-Party Computation, which splits key material among multiple parties. As a result, no single server holds enough control to move a user's assets.

Why Litentry matters to Heima's design

Heima did not start from scratch. It grew out of Litentry, a network created in 2019 with a focus on decentralized identity aggregation. The same team later broadened its scope toward chain abstraction and access for AI agents. In February 2025, the old LIT token was replaced by HEI on new contracts. That background helps explain the network's long-running use of TEE-based privacy infrastructure. It also means users should confirm they are looking at the current HEI contracts rather than older Litentry ones.
