About Lido Staked Ether
stETH (Lido Staked Ether) is minted through the Lido protocol when users stake ETH, combining the original deposit with accrued staking rewards in a liquid token. Because it stays transferable and can be used as collateral in DeFi or swapped on exchanges, holders earn Ethereum staking rewards without sacrificing access to their assets.
The supply expands and contracts with the amount of ETH staked—deposits mint new stETH, withdrawals burn it. Lido operates as a decentralized community (Lido DAO) and eliminates the need to run a validator, letting anyone stake any amount of ETH and still contribute to network security.
