About EthereumPoW

EthereumPoW (ETHW) is a blockchain that split from the Ethereum mainnet to keep the Proof-of-Work consensus mechanism alive after the network transitioned to Proof-of-Stake during the Merge upgrade. It is a copy of Ethereum's state from just before the Merge, allowing miners to continue validating transactions and producing blocks using the original Ethash algorithm.

The native asset, ETHW, is paid to miners as block rewards and used for transaction fees. While the chain technically inherits Ethereum's smart contract capabilities, most major protocols and stablecoin issuers opted to support the PoS chain exclusively. As a result, the decentralized finance ecosystem on EthereumPoW remains minimal.
