About MegaETH
MegaETH (MEGA) is an Ethereum-compatible Layer 2 network designed for near-instant transaction finality. Unlike typical rollups that inherit Ethereum's slower confirmation pace, it separates execution from verification so applications can respond in milliseconds while still relying on Ethereum for security. MEGA is the network's utility and governance token. Holders can stake it to take part in protocol decisions and receive a share of ecosystem rewards, or use it to bid in an auction system that allocates positions close to the network's transaction sequencer. This proximity mechanism is aimed at latency-sensitive services such as market makers and high-frequency trading applications. The token's supply is capped, and a portion of rewards is unlocked only when the network reaches predefined performance milestones.
